BFB #AccessibleTutoring

#AccessibleTutoring is a tutoring and educational support program for children with special needs and their families. Students participants will go through training empowered by Bridges from Borders and Accessible Academics. BFB also provides tailored training from the National Tutoring Association (NTA), giving the students the necessary skills, tools, and support to effectively tutor children in our community. This program also leads to an opportunity to become a National Tutoring Association Certified Tutor which not only teaches youth valuable skills, but also looks appealing on college applications. Both the training and tutoring hours will be counted as student participant volunteer hours. The training will take place online, but the tutoring will take place in person near UB. The tutoring time will be scheduled according to the tutees' and tutors' availability.

Our Goal: Provide educational support to children with special needs and their families.

Our Program: BFB provides training through the National Tutoring Association (NTA), and support for students to become certified tutors allowing them to provide assistance to families with special needs children.
