BFB #MyStory

BFB #MyStory program is a student empowerment program rooted in our mental health ambassador youth achievement competition in 2021. This program develops immigrant narratives through the combination of oral history, narrative therapy, and portrait exhibit to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity.

In this project, we recruit young volunteers and provide them with professional skills training. They work with storytellers to help them share their experiences and cultural heritage through a variety of mediums such as photography, writing, and podcasts. Through the #MyStory project, our aim is to foster diversity and inclusion, thereby serving the refugee and immigrant communities, who are traditionally under-resourced in public programming.

Thank you to our storytellers for opening your life to this program, giving back to our community, and empowering our young generation to pursue their future, to keep our collective memories and cultural heritage in which we understand where we are from and where we are headed.

Our goal: Share the stories of local immigrants

Our Program: BFB works to empower students by setting them up with training and resources to be able to share the narratives of local immigrants in order to foster unity and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our community.
