Mandy Yao Intern
Mandy Yao is currently an undergraduate majoring in Applied Psychology at New York University. As a psychology student, she hopes to apply the science of psychology in the service of humanity. She enjoys working with different communities and advocating for their needs. Her previous experience involves working with pediatric patients, high school students, and
international students both in academic settings and the nonprofit sector. As the president of the event planning board at the International Student Association at her school, she has planned and organized large-scale events such as the Spring Festival Gala, New Students Beach BBQ, and International Culture Festival which deepened her understanding of the needs of international students. Her research focuses on the psychological well-being of ethnic minorities and how culture shapes the ways individuals cope with stress.
