Within Williamsville East, he is the sitting president of the Math Team, captain of the varsity tennis team, and chess club co-founder. After competing heavily at the national level, he now heavily focuses on his mathematical abilities to promote education and equal opportunity. Notably, he has taught online for six years, and continues to, free of charge, covering a diverse range of mathematics: from basic arithmetic to national competitions. Currently, he leads and organizes volunteers and directs a myriad of tutoring sessions for the community.
His work has garnered him profound insight into the diversity and identity of the Greater Buffalo community. He spends his summers and winter breaks instructing refugees from South America, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. For his service he has earned multiple Presidential Volunteer Service Awards. His experience ensures he possesses the knowledge and communication skills to lead and sympathize effectively.
His goal, as the co-founder for the #OneWorldChessClub, is to combat the daunting stereotypes surrounding chess and leverage the game to facilitate inclusion and construct communities. His teaching and refugee backgrounds position him to extend deep into the community and utilize chess as a unifying force to promote positive social change.
