Xiangxiang Xu

She previously studied music education at University College London and worked as a music teacher and PSHE coordinator at Wycombe Abbey School in Hangzhou, China. During her time there, she promoted a community-centered approach, integrating emotional intelligence into curriculum design. One example of her work was combining music education with teamwork, providing immersive experiences that helped students, staff, and parents connect more deeply with each other and their school community. She also collaborated with students to take ownership of their environment through initiatives like a student-designed school store.

Xiangxiang’s research focuses on how community-centered approaches can foster inclusive, creative, and equitable environments. She believes everyone has their own unique way of expressing their "real selves" and building meaningful connections within their community.
