Helen McCabe is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education and Special Education at Daemen University. Her primary focus is on services and support for individuals with autism and their families, specifically for families in and from China. She has conducted research and provided teacher and parent training in China for over 20 years.

Helen is also the co-founder and Executive Director of The Five Project for International Autism and Disability Support, Inc. She has a Ph.D. in special education and international/comparative education from Indiana University, and an M.A. and B.A. in East Asian Studies from Washington University in St. Louis and Middlebury College, respectively.
