Nancy Nsengiyumva is from South Sudan and came to the United States in 1999 as a refugee child with her parents and siblings. She holds an M.A. in Biology from Buffalo State College and a B.S. from Medaille College. Nsengiyumva worked in social services for over seven years, focusing on intellectual and developmental disabilities. In her diverse roles, Nsengiyumva acquired knowledge and passionately advocated for and assisted her clients.

While navigating the challenges during the coronavirus pandemic in 2019, Nsengiyumva was inspired to pursue a healthcare career. She is currently a registered nursing student at D’Youville University. Nsengiyumva joined Bridges from Borders Inc. at the end of 2023 and wishes to take this opportunity to learn, serve, and support individuals interested in mental health resources. She plans to continue building connections with the local community while making a positive impact.
