Swaroop Singh is an active member of South Asian community in Western New York. He has a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and MBA from University at Buffalo. He hails from Chennai, India, where he completed MS from Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

After a career in medical research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, he joined Treasury division of M&T Bank. He served as Public Relations Director of India Association of Buffalo. He serves a member of Amherst Youth Board and is a Co-Founder of Council of Heritage and Arts of India. In collaboration with other cultural and social groups, he has helped organize medical camps in Williamsville and Amherst, Mask and Lunch Boxes for Healthcare workers, Fundraising for social causes and India Festival in Downtown Buffalo.

Swaroop Singh has served as a board director at the Williamsville board of education since 2021.
